He was also suspended from the Cotton Bowl in his senior season by head coach Mike Gundy

for violating the team curfew rule.

Cox was arrested on December 9, 2010 while playing for felonious sexual assault, taken to a Douglas County jail and released on December 10 on a $50,000 bond. His sexual assault chargers are class three and class four felonies which carry a sentence of two years to life in prison. He may also face probation of ten years to life if convicted.
