History

Peponi School was established in 1989 on a 45 acres (182,108.7 m²) piece of land. The school is set at around 5,600 ft (1,707m) above sea level in a magnificent countryside ranch. The campus is within a kilometre of the main Nairobi-Thika road near Ruiru town, Central Province, within easy reach of the amenities of Nairobi city. Peponi has an international intake of pupils and is a centre for internationally recognised school-leaving examinations at 16 (IGCSE), 17 (A/S) and 18 (A2) Years.

It incorporates much that we consider good about the British type of private school while identifying clearly with the school's Kenyan environment.

Sports

The school is actively involved in sports within the school (between houses) as well as with other (international) schools. Like all British schools Peponi is has one of the best cricket grounds in the country. They have a cricket team , that plays active cricket in central province. With other schools and clubs.

When most cricket clubs in Central province were dying or struggling to survive due to lack of sponsors and funds, and most cricket fields were being changed to rugby grounds. Cricket was still played at Peponi school cricket ground and is one of the three active clubs which froms (C.P.C.A) Central Province Cricket Association. The other two are Thika Gymkhana and Kerugoya Cricket Club
