Pen Mar Park is a scenic area located on High Rock Road on the Mason-Dixon line in Washington County, Maryland
. In 1877, the site was opened as an amusement park by the Western Maryland Railroad. When it was dismantled in 1943 the park contained a roller coaster, carousel, miniature train and railroad station, dining hall to seat 450 people, and a dance pavilion.
The park was official reopened 37 years in 1980 when a group of citizens from both Pennsylvania and Maryland raised funds to build a multipurpose, public pavilion at the site. Today, attractions include recreation areas in the park and High Rock Summit, which at an altitude of 1800 feet, provides an outlook from the top of the Quirauk Mountain
