On 21 August 2007, YCNI:M announced that they would go on indefinite hiatus, stating "We are all exceptionally proud of all we have achieved as a band, but feel it is time to move on and explore new paths both musical and non- musical"

The Automatic (2007–present)

On 19 October 2007, it was announced that Mullen would join The Automatic as a second guitarist. Mullenh was known by the band from their collaboration between YCNI:M and The Automatic with Print Is Dead Vol 1

 track "The Trapeze Artist", and a neutral friend had suggested Mullen as he was 'out of work' after the YCNI:M split. Original members Frost, Iwan and Rob had already wrote a number of tracks for a second album, and with Mullen joining the first track to be written as a group was "This Ship", and in January 2008 the band headed to America to record the album This Is a Fix
