Paul McLoone is the current singer of Irish
pop-punk band The Undertones
. He replaced Feargal Sharkey
when the band reunited for a series of festival appearances in 1999. McLoone presents a weekday evening programme on Today FM
radio.

In March 1999, he moved to Dublin to produce The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show
for Today FM
. During his tenure as series producer, he co-created and co-wrote Gift Grub
for five years until leaving Today FM
in 2004. He returned to the station two years later to produce Tom Dunne
's show (then called Pet Sounds).
When Tom Dunne
left Today FM in August 2008 to take up a day-time position at Newstalk 106
, McLoone took over as presenter. The show (now simply known as Paul McLoone) goes out from 7-10 p.m. Monday to Thursday on Today FM.
McLoone has also been involved in the world of animation, as a writer and creative consultant on the Jam Media series Funky Fables, and the forthcoming Badly Drawn Roy (both for CBBC
). McLoone can also be heard providing the voice of "Baboon" in the Cartoon Saloon
series Skunk Fu.
