He announced what he described as a new direction for Veritas, stating "No longer will we be considered a rump of UKIP, we have a broad range of aims, ambitions and policies. We are now after a three-month period of reorganisation raising our game."
The NEC started a reconsideration of what were the party's core values, which were published on the party's revamped website in April 2006. Veritas contacted similar organisations such as United Kingdom Independence Party
(UKIP) and the English Democrats with a view to future co-operation.
