"Paperlate" was the lead song from the second of two EPs

"Paperlate" did not appear on Compact Disc
in the UK until November 2000, when it was featured on the retrospective boxed set Archive #2 1976-1992
along with its EP track "You Might Recall". The other B-side, "Me and Virgil", was left off the compilation, but in 2007 all three tracks were reunited on the extra disc of the 1976-1982
collection.
Upon its release, 3 X 3s lead song was "Paperlate", and the EP debuted at #30 on the UK charts, peaking at #10 later on. "Paperlate" became a Top 40 hit in the US, peaking at #32 on the U.S. Billboard charts, and #2 on the US Mainstream Rock Charts
