When she gets to Seychelles, she comes to know that her dad, who she has been so anxious to meet, she cant find him ,one link to find her dad and that is death of marine archiologist Mr.Gandhibhai who only know where her dad is ,but coincidently she is living with her dad only in the hotel which she is living , which she came to know in climax and her dad is living there in seychelles with another woman, Swati Sinha, who had divorced to another male, and her dad is not at all thrilled to have a teenaged daughter come and interrupt his life and affairs. At Seychelles, Sweety meets Rohit Dixit (Jugal Hansraj
) and both fall in love with each other which takes the story to a new turn. Also, Mr. Anand and Sweety have developed a father-daughter relationship, unknown to the fact that they are related. Later, the story has several twists, which ultimately ends on a happy note.

Box office
The film released on 17 May 1996 with huge expectations due to the excellent music and promos. The film started out well, but the collection plunged down, declaring the film as a flop. One of the reasons as to why the film flopped was the audience's reaction as they felt that Mahesh Bhatt didn't recreate the magic as his previous films. Also, critics criticized the new, fresh pair of Jugal Hansraj and Mayuri Kango as they felt that their chemistry wasn't strong as were not able to perform as Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal did in Aashiqui. However, many acknowledge the fact that Jugal Hansraj's and Anupum Kher's performance was noteworthy. Jugal Hansraj got noticed in this film, however, his breakthrough role came in the hit film MohabbateinMohabbatein
