        The Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA)   is the central bank of Palestine
. It is located in Ramallah
. The current governor is Dr Jihad Al Wazir.
The PMA was established by presidential decree in 1994 following the Oslo Agreement between the Palestine Liberation Organization and the State of Israel. Later it was established as an independent institution by an act of the Palestine Legislative Council under Law No. 2 of 1997 with full autonomy in the pursuit of its objective of monetary and financial stability.
