The lagoon is one of the best places in the world to learn kiteboarding. The first reason is that a very consistent side-onshore wind is blowing most of the year. The second reason is that the lagoon is shallow during low tide and has a sandy bottom. Lastly, the reef protects the lagoon from waves.
