History

Padma was the seat of Ramgarh Raj and the palace is located there.

Padma Block was established on 27 September 1995.

Demographics

In 2001 census, Padma CD Block had a population of 43,411, out of which 21,650 were males and 21,761 were females. 7,567 belonged to scheduled castes and 235 belonged to scheduled tribes. 18,051 persons were literate.
