The Pacific sand sole, Psettichthys melanostictus, is the only fish in the genus Psettichthys of the Pleuronectidae
family. It is a flat fish and inhabits Eastern Pacific waters where it lives on sandy bottoms. It feeds on other fish, worms, crustaceans and molluscs.
