. It was run by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word from 1946 until 1972. From 1972 until 1995 education at the school was administered by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. The school was on the verge of closing in 1995, but the Diocese of Dallas kept OLPH open with a lay principal due to petitions from the families of students.
