Otmar Hasler was the Prime Minister of Liechtenstein from 5 April 2001 to 25 March 2009. He was educated at the University of Fribourg
. He was appointed on 5 April 2001, replacing Mario Frick, and led a government of the Progressive Citizens' Party in Liechtenstein and the Patriotic Union
. His rule has seen a significant transfer of powers from his office to the reigning Prince of Liechtenstein. He previously served as Speaker of the Landtag in 1995.
