He also had supporting roles in the following dramas 5 Nen Go no Love Letter, Shinzanmono and Kikoku. As well as receiving many role in dramas, he was also offered many movie roles and he appeared in BECK and Hanamizuki. In 2011 he has the main role in the live-action film of Paradise Kiss, alongside Kitagawa Keiko. He acts as George an aspiring designer whom is a member of the group, "Paradise Kiss". Mukai also has a role in another movie set to hit theaters in Japan this year titled, "Bokutachi wa Sekai wo Kaeru Koto ga Dekinai".
