Oregon State Treasurer

The Oregon State Treasurer is a constitutional officer within the executive branch of the government
of the U.S. state
of Oregon
, elected by statewide vote to serve a four year term. As chief financial officer for the state, the office holder heads the Oregon State Treasury, and with the Governor and Secretary of State
, serves on the Land Board. The office was held from January 5, 2009 to March 7, 2010 by Ben Westlund
, a Democrat
, who died in office. On March 9, 2010, Oregon governor Ted Kulongoski
appointed Multnomah County chairman Ted Wheeler
to fill the vacancy until a special election on November 2, 2010 to fill the remaining two years of Westlund's term.
