Both the academic and arts program have prompted recognition in the US News' "Best High Schools" program.OCHSA is currently considering to change their school name to "The Orange County School of the Arts" in order to include the middle grade students in the title.
The Orange County High School of the Arts (OCHSA) was founded in 1988 and reorganized as a public charter school on April 20, 2000.
