An optician is a person who is trained to fill prescriptions for eye correction in the field of medicine, also known as a dispensing optician or optician, dispensing. An optician is commonly defined as someone who only makes and dispenses eyeglasses and other eye correction, and does not perform medical tests, those being the duties of a optometrist or ophthalmologist, although he may fit contact lenses and deal with eye problems arising.
