, established in the beginning of the 18th century to move farther from attacks from the French colony of Quebec. The Village of Oneida Castle was named for the last great home or "castle" of the Oneida Indian tribe.

There were 264 households out of which 26.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.8% were married couples
living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.2% were non-families. 26.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.87.
In the village the population was spread out with 21.5% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 26.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 96.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.2 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $40,789, and the median income for a family was $45,875. Males had a median income of $35,568 versus $26,964 for females. The per capita income
