, which premiered in 1985. For the effort, he got the Amanda Award for best Norwegian film in 1985. He has also written scripts for a number of Norwegian films.

Career

Ola Solum was a director of the young talents who made the film supported by the Norwegian Film A/S. In 1976 he directed his first feature film Journey to the Poinsettia, which has been shown on television countless times. Solum was in the Vampire Film group which had the objective "to conquer the Norwegian Film from the inside." In 1978, Solum made the movie Operation Cobra for older kids, and he made it successful by speaking their youthful language. This got the Norwegian Film A/S noticed and he was praised for it.

When Norwegian Film A/S as celebrating its 50th anniversary, they arranged Solum job on the film Carl Gustav, the gang and parking Bandits (1982) because of his success with the film from 1978.
In 1985 Solum directed Orion's Belt. The film was a huge success in Norway and abroad. Here at home pulled it over 600,000 publikumere, it won the Amanda Prize, and was nominated for an Oscar.
When Solum made his film Vagabonds (1989) he spent two years and 12 million more than expected. After this, Solum directed only two feature films before he died of cancer in 1996.
