In the village the population was spread out with 21.7% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 32.6% from 25 to 44, 31.2% from 45 to 64, and 9.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 126.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 120.4 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $48,125, and the median income for a family was $49,375. Males had a median income of $41,719 versus $28,750 for females. The per capita income

History

Transportation
An individual has three ways to get to the community (and the island in general). They could travel by car (restricted), on the Fire Island Ferries or by private boat. Use of the ferries is by far the most popular means of getting to Ocean Beach.It is also possible to reach Ocean Beach by foot or bicycle from other Fire Island communities, by one of the inland walks or on the beach.
