The Oaky River is a river of the Northern Tablelands of New South Wales

. This river rises below Round Mountain
and flows approximately 40 kilometres (24.9 mi) in a mostly south westerly direction to its confluence with the Chandler River
. The Ponds Creek is the main tributary of the river. Oaky River passes into the Oaky River Power Station Dam before it drops into the rugged Oaky River Gorge for a total drop in elevation about 885 metres. The Oaky River and its tributaries are trout streams and platypus
