Oakmead

Oakmead College is divided into blocks A and B (the original girl's and boy's schools).

Block A contains the majority of the core curriculum classes: English, maths and science. It also contains an assembly hall (hall A), a playground (for years 10 & 11) the gym, the sports hall, a drama studio, 4 IT rooms, 9 science labs, a media suite, raise room and an English reading room

Block B contains contains classes for such as geography, RE, history, IT, business studies, dance, drama, music and DT. There are 7 DT rooms—2 food technology rooms, 2 resistant materials rooms, graphics room, computer graphics and an electronics room. There is a specialised plumbing centre, 5 IT rooms and two MFL (modern foreign language) rooms, 2 drama studios, 3 music rooms, 2 art rooms, another assembly hall, another playground (for years 7, 8 & 9) and the canteen.

School Day: Period 1 (8:30 - 9:30), Period 2 (9:30 - 10:30), Break (10:30 - 10:50), Period 3 (10:50 - 11:50), Period 4 (11:50 - 12:50), Lunch (12:50 - 1:20), Period 5 (1:20 - 2:20), Enrichment (2:20 - 3:00)

Facilities

Students have access to personal computer accounts which are linked into the computer network and are stored on a network hard-drive which is backed up every day. Almost every classroom contains an interactive white board and computer.
