) comes to the house of Murthy (Prakash Raj
) on recommendation of his father Sekhar (Chandra Mohan
) who is a childhood friend of Murthy. Nandini alias Nandu (Arti Agarwal) is the daughter of Murthy. Venky enters that place when Nandu is about to get engaged to software professional from USA. He helps the family in getting the engagement done smoothly. Murthy helps Venky secure a handsome job. The relationship between Venky and Nandu starts with hatred and turns into friendship. Nandu expresses Venky that she is in love with him. Venky, who does not want to spoil the relationship of their parents, decides to run off from the house of Nandu. But Murthy gets Venky back from Railway Station, as he thought Venky did not like the job he was given. And it's the marriage time! Venky takes the onus of running the show of marriage. The demure Nandu is in shattered mood as her lover is acting like a broker to her marriage. Will Venky sacrifice his silent love Nandu to a stranger or marries Nandu with the help of their parents.
The film earned a great acclaim upon a new style of comedy using alliterations among the dialogues which later became a trademark style of Trivikram Srinivas. Dialogues during Murthy's and Venky's confrontation are the highlights of the film. Especially when Murthy receives a "booklet" on Venky's biography which Murthy mocks as Sekhar sent it written as he could not "afford" to tell it on phone. In one scene, Venky returns late from a film and Murthy's stops him to ask the reason for delay. The conversation goes something like this
Murthy: Ekkada nunchi vasthunnaru sir (Where are you coming from sir(mockingly) ?)
Venky: Sivalayam lo harikatha chepthunnarante vindama ani velli... (I heard that there were some religious discourses in the nearby temple and went to listen them... )
Venky : Notices the grim on Murthy's face and completes his sentence as
"... adi antha interesting ga ledani cheppi, pakkane vunna theatre lo preminchukundam ra cinema choosi vasthunna" (since it was not that interesting I went to a film in the nearby theatre).
This way Venky, replies in a mocking manner to all questions of Murthy, but they are not intentional. It is portrayed that Venky generally tries to act smart and gets caught in the eyes of Murthy.
Later most of the Telugu films copied the "alliterated mock" and all the movies of Vijayabhaskar after this expected to contain such comic sequences. Another highlight of the film is Brahmanandam. He enters the film as a stranger who carries "bad luck" along with his wallet. He faces various embarrassments which are indeed funny. This kind of trend later started in later Vijaybhaskar's movies like Manmadhudu etc.
It is a very entertaining film and can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
