Nuvem is home to two educational institutions: IAM (the leading hospitality college in India) and Carmel College.

The people of Nuvem enjoy the sport of football and Konkani dramas (tiatr)are extremely popular here. Nuvem has a Go-Karting track located on the hill top. It is considered as one of the best Go-Karting track in India. A new sporting activity called MILSIM-GOA, which is a variation of paintball, has just started in Gounlley, a ward in Nuvem. Milsim caters to real life tactical experiences for tourists and the locals.

The Nuvem village has a beautiful church known as Our Lady of the Poor church (Mae dos Pobres) whose feast is celebrated by the villagers on the first Sunday of November.
