Nuffnang is an online blog advertising community, claiming the lives of 118,817 bloggers spanning Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia.

In conjunction with Nuffnang's 2nd anniversary, Nuffnang hosted the region's first blog awards in Singapore. Over 400 bloggers from Asia Pacific attended the NAPBAs.

On September 2009, Nuffnang Malaysia launched Project Alpha, Malaysia first online TV Show about bloggers.

History

Nuffnang was launched in February 2007 by Timothy Tiah Ewe Tiam and Cheo Ming Shen. Nuffnang's online platform allows advertisers to serve graphic and video based advertisements onto more than 100,000 blogs. Nuffnang.com has offices in 4 different countries: Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Melbourne since November 2008. Nuffnang bloggers are known as Nuffnangers while their staff are known as Nuffies. Nuffnang has been featured on mainstream newspapers like The Star, Malaysia and The Sunday Times, Singapore amongst other media.

Nuffnang Glitterati

Every Nuffnang Blogger is promoted to join its Glitterati exclusivity program if the blog does not have any other advertising networks from South East Asia. Glitterati member are prioritized for advertorial opportunities and have access to Innit.

Nuffnang Innit

Nuffnang Innit works as a blog aggregator for all Nuffnang Glitterati, featuring a voting ("Nang") system and easy retrieval of latest posts. It is a method of blog traffic exchange.

Controversies

Nuffnang added, without prior notice, a $1 administrative fee on payments that was noted on the cashout page. The sudden introduction of this fee did not go down well with some bloggers. Nuffnang has since responded with a brief breakdown of their operational costs, as well as pointing out that their cashout threshold of $50 was lower than that of their competitors.

Asia Pacific Blog Awards

Nuffnang hosted the first Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards in Singapore on October 2009. Over 400 bloggers were invited from all over the region. There are 12 different categories for the Blog Awards:

  • Best Geek Blog
  • Best Entertainment Blog
  • Best Celebrity Blog
  • Best Travel Blog

Nominations were open to all Asia-Pacific blogs.

Project Alpha

Project Alpha is Malaysia's first online TV show revolving around bloggers. It first aired on 18 September 2009 and is hosted by Jojo Struys.
