Nostrand Avenue is an elevated station

. The station has two side platforms located above Atlantic Avenue
. Entrances and exits are located at Nostrand Avenue and New York Avenue. A ticket booth is located at the Nostrand Avenue end of the eastbound platform, along with two daily ticket machines. This station can platform a 6-car train. This station is also in proximity to the trains two blocks north at Fulton Street
. Trains leave every 12-15 minutes during peak hours, and 30 minutes during off peak hours until 11pm. Connections exist to the B25, B44, and B65 bus routes.
The station resembles a typical elevated New York City Subway
station and has white on black signage as found on the subway. Though originally built in 1877, the current elevated station was built between 1903 and 1905.
