Northern Nash High School opened in 1965, consolidating the former Red Oak High School, Benvenue High School and Swift Creek High School. As such, it was one of the first integrated schools in Rocky Mount.Curriculum

The Wrestling team of Northern Nash recently became the Conference Champions of the Big East for 2010. The team included around 20 students, included seniors Joe Young, Chris Melton, and Jermyus Silver.
