Nitocris of Babylon

"'Nitrocris of Babylon"' circa (550 BC), was a queen of Babylon, either married to Nebuchadnezzar II or daughter of Nebuchadnezzar II. It is said that she carried on several of his building projects after Nebuchadnezzar II's death and was also influential in the reign of later kings of Babylon. According to Herodotus

 she tricked Darius by placing her tomb above a gate so that Darius could not pass under that gate. According to the account, she also left a mysterious inscription that served as a trap for greedy kings.
