i actor. His first film was Pijada released in 2000, in which he jumped from a seven storey building of Kantipur Complex. The stunt is believed to be the reason behind the success of the movie. He has more than 45 films with lead role and regarded as one of the must successful and popular actor in Nepal.

Till now he has worked in more than 45 films. He has been awarded for his performance in different movies. He was welcomed with the award as a Best Actor in First National Films Award 2062 from the movie �Haami Teen Bhai�. This film was very well received and earned Nikhil with name as well as fame. He was also awarded with Rastriya Nagarik Sworna Samman in 2063 B.S. Not only this, he has also in hand a number of awards on completing 51 days from more than 15 movies.

Family and early life

Nikhil was born to Govinda Upreti and Bhoj Kumari Upreti in Piprabhitta of Sarlahi. He has two sisters and a brother. During his childhood days, he was interested in sports especially in Karate(black belt) and football. He completed his education from Birgunj and Kathmandu and moved to Mumbai and worked in different movies as an assistant fight director and a stunt boy. He also got Diploma in acting from Roshan Taneja’s studio, Mumbai. Similarly, he got special training in action there and got a chance to work as an assistant fight director in ABCL company of Amitabh Bachhan and showed his talent in dozens of Hindi films. In 2058 B.S he got married with Kopila Upreti of Noubise, Dhading after 8 years of successful love story. His marriage has helped him a lot to settle down. Film Career

Born from a background family of farmers, Nikhil’s first acting role came in 2057 B.S, where he had a breath taking and substantial role in Pijada, a Nepali film. He jumped from a seven stored building of Kantipur Complex for that movie and it was a superhit. This movie can be termed as a career-maker for him. Nikhil's next film was the 2059’s another hit movie Maya Ko Jaal. Nikhil was then picked as the first choice by the big producers of Nepal for their upcoming films. With the entry of Nikhil in Nepali Film Industry, the action trend in cinema has completely changed .For the year 2064, he has already signed a dozen of films including Nepal’s most popular director Tulshi Ghimire’s Desh and three Bhojpuri films from the Indian makers. Recently, he is busy with the shootings for Trishul, Ghayal and Dai Ko Sasuraali.Nikhil has performed quite eccentric in the kollywood film industry and lead the film industry to a new spoor. Nikhil Upreti has contributed a lot to hoist the standard of action in the movies and has changed the scrutiny of people regarding the action as it has always been criticized.

Till now he has worked in more than 45 films. He has been awarded for his performance in different movies.

Awards

He was welcomed with the award as a Best Actor in First National Films Award 2062 from the movie ‘Haami Teen Bhai’. This film was very well received and earned Nikhil with name as well as fame. Others

As a producer he has put his hand in only one movie that is ‘Savadhan’, a completely different track movie and it was also a hit. He has also worked as an Ad director for 2 PM noodles and is a brand ambassador of Phataaphat noodles.
In The Nepali Film Fraternity, there are no any films which are named in the name of an actor but there is one movie Nikhil Dai which is named in Nikhil’s name itself. Currently, he is one of the most busiest actor in Nepali Movie Industry. Looks like there is no any limit for this super-star of Kollywood.
