series, published by Christopher Helm in 2001, the first guide to feature illustrations of all 1285 West African species. Birds of Ghana published by A&C Black in 2010 is a dedicated country field guide with new text and maps specific to Ghana. It uses illustrations from the acclaimed Birds of Western Africa as well as many new illustrations, which have been recomposed into a new set of plates illustrating all the species recorded to date in the country as well as neighbouring Togo.

Borrow studied at the Wimbledon School of Art and subsequently taught art for some years before becoming a professional bird artist and tour guide with the specialist birding holiday company BirdQuest.
