In response, the International Rugby Board
imposed an indefinite suspension on Nigeria in 2009.
In January 2010 the NRFF signed a kit sponsorship deal with Puma Sports.
In July 2011 the Nigeria Olympic Committee
(NOC) brought together the feuding parties of Nigeria Rugby Football Federation, inaugurating a new board. The NOC Scribe, Honourable Tunde Popoola wiped away tears at the ceremony.
