Club career

Stanciu is a product of Unirea Alba Iulia's youth system, and started in the junior squad since he was 11 years old. On 25 May 2008, he made his first team debut for Unirea Alba Iulia, at 15 years 18 days, coming off from the bench in a 4–1 victory over Corvinul Hunedoara. The 2008-09 campaign was lost by the young midfielder, since he suffered a long-term injury which kept him out from the field for almost 7 months. On 1 May 2010, Stanciu made his Liga I debut as he came on as a substitute for Nemanja Jovanović

Vaslui

On 9 September 2011, Adrian Porumboiu paid Stanciu's release clause which turned him into a free agent, so therefore he signed with SC Vaslui.
