New Zealand Auto-Cycle Union commenced operation in 1916 and in 1994 was renamed Motorcycling New Zealand (MNZ). In 1966, there were some 3,000 members of 38 motor cycle clubs affiliated to the New Zealand Auto Cycle Union.
