Route 9P starts at Broadway

 in downtown Saratoga Springs and is locally known along this short stretch as Spring Street, then it turns south along Congress Park

The route continues over I-87 (locally known as "The Northway) at exit 14 and past Saratoga National Golf Course. Eventually it crosses over a bridge at the point where Fish Creek flows from Saratoga Lake. Route 9P continues along the lake past several older cottages and newer larger homes, eventually heading away from the lake back to Route 9 in the town of Malta.
