New York State League (1885-1917)

The New York State League is an independent baseball league that will play its fifth season in 2011 in the New York City metro area. Over 200 NYSL players have been signed by professional teams. The league is composed of four teams including the Federals, the Capitols, the Empires and the Hudsons. Players from forty-four states and eight countries have competed in the league.

New York Federals

Starting in the 2011 season the New York State League will serve as the official developmental league of the Can-Am League. With this agreement, the Can-Am League has formed a traveling team called the New York Federals, which is primarily composed of former NYSL players.
