. The department does this by working with and supporting the vast range of businesses and industries across the State to advance investment, innovation, activity and improvements across all industry sectors.

The goals of the department are to improve the performance of the NSW economy, drive economic growth in regional New South Wales, increase the competitiveness of doing business in New South Wales, secure potable water supplies, and enhance cultural, creative, sporting and recreational opportunities.

The Department is led by its Director General, Mark Paterson AO, who reports to the Deputy Premier
