The New Bedford Railroad was a railroad in Massachusetts
. It was incorporated in 1873 as a merger between New Bedford and Taunton Railroad
, the Taunton Branch Railroad
and the Middleborough and Taunton Railroad.
On February 2, 1874 it entered into a fifty year lease agreement with the Boston, Clinton and Fitchburg Railroad to enable that railroad access to the deep water port at New Bedford
.
On June 1, 1876 it was consolidated with the Boston, Clinton and Fitchburg Railroad to become the Boston, Clinton, Fitchburg and New Bedford Railroad
. The line would later become part of the Old Colony Railroad
network.
