Construction

The first section's stations will include Belapur Rly, Sector-7 Belapur, Science Park, Utsav Chowk, Sector-14, Central Park, Pethapada, Sector-34, Panchnand, Pendhar, Sector-10 Kamothe, Sector-2E Kalamboli, Sector-7E Kalamboli, Sector-10E Kalamboli, Kasadi, and two railway stations in the MIDC area.

Project status

The Navi Mumbai Metro project received formal approval on 29 April 2010,
and a public hearing on 21 May reported no major objections. The metro's foundation stone was laid on 1 May 2011 by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan
