The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), established in 1886, is one of the construction industry's oldest trade associations in the United States.
NRCA offers extensive roofing industry information for roofing professionals including technical information, Special Reports, insurance and safety information, an industry calendar and the latest industry news. NRCA provides a wide range of information and services to help homeowners and building owners make informed decisions about replacing and maintaining their roof systems.

National Roofing Legal Resource Center (NRLRC)

Established in 1979 by NRCA as a separately funded organization, NRLRC acts as a legal advocate for roofing contractors throughout the U.S. NRLRC provides assistance in resolving legal issues such as contract language, employee relations, regulatory compliance, payment provisions, insurance coverage, and codes and standards.

NRCA University

NRCA University provides technical programs, safety training, professional development and other educational opportunities to NRCA members, roofing professionals, manufacturers, architects, consultants, building owners, facility managers and anyone with an interest in the roofing industry.

The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress

In 1996, The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress was established to create an endowment fund to serve as a highly focused resource for the roofing industry and its customers. The Alliance's objectives are to conduct research and educational projects that support programs for roofing contractors; ensure industry responses to major economic and technological issues; and enhance the long-term viability and attractiveness of the industry to roofing workers. The Alliance also sponsors scholarships for undergraduate students who are employees, immediate family members of employees or immediate family members of NRCA-contractor members.

The Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing

With an understanding the built environment faces long-term, irreversible market trends that demand a focus on environmental stewardship, NRCA and a group of industry leaders established the Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing, which is a 501(c)(6) organization designed to promote the knowledge base, development and use of environmentally responsible, high-performance roof systems.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the center serves as an industry forum to draw together all roofing stakeholders into the common cause of promoting awareness of environmentally friendly, high-performance roof systems. The center's core purpose is to increase and disseminate the industry's collective knowledge base while advancing product innovation.

The center endeavors to advance innovative solutions that help roofing consumers save energy, as well as reduce the environmental effects of roofing material life cycles.

Roof Integrated Solar Energy (RISE)

RISE evaluates and certifies solar energy installers for knowledge regarding critical roof construction and maintenance practices necessary to support successful rooftop solar energy installations based on principles regarding the installation and maintenance of rooftop solar energy systems without adversely affecting roof system performance and service life.

Individuals who successfully complete the RISE requirements will receive the RISE Certified Solar Roofing Professional certification, which is a voluntary certification for professionals who plan and oversee the installation of photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs. The credential evaluates whether candidates have the underlying knowledge required for a successful roof-mounted PV system installation, recognizing the importance of the roof system and PV system for a building's value and uninterrupted use.
