Nascent Republic Records LLC is an independent record label founded in 2008 by Josh Seawell, owner of Seawell Studios just outside of Greensboro, North Carolina. The label was formed to give recording freedom to the artists without the pressure of someone telling them they had to sound a certain way. Joey Barnes was born August 13, 1976 in Greensboro, NC. Most widely known for his drumming gig with Daughtry, Barnes signed with independent label Nascent Republic Records in 2008 and has had four releases: Always , Last Request , Change and a cover of Wham’s single "Last Christmas"...

 (formerly of Daughtry, 2006–2010), Patrick Rock, Stephen von Heyking, and Courtney Smith. Former artist J Timber was signed to the label from 2010–2011.
