city.

Nakyal is a small town located in a beautiful valley nearly 3 kilometres from the Line of Control (Or the Ceasefire Line). A nearby place called Tatapani is known for being one of the five crossing points at the LoC that were opened for the exchange of relief goods between Pakistani and Indian Administered parts of Kashmir after the devastating October 8 Earthquake. Nakyal and its surrounding areas are considered among most beautiful parts of Azad Kashmir. It can also be a tourist attraction but tourists are not encouraged as facilities are either not available or are not in good shape and because of uncertain conditions at the LoC in the past years.

Before 1947, appreciable number of tourists from all over India used to visit the area. But since Partition, it became part of Kotli District and the conditions entirely changed. Local people have lots to talk about the firing of shells from across the LoC and incidents of fierce crossfire in the past years. In the town of Nakyal, many residents say how their houses were damaged in the crossfire. Most of the residents here are literate: can read, write and speak their own language with having an appreciable fluency of Urdu. Many also understand and speak English. Life style is simple and moderate. By occupation, they are mostly agriculturists, small traders, school teachers and skilled labourers. They have fair complexion with normal physique. Some of them are really beautiful and remain unforgettable.

Heading text

Nakial is more than 10 Kilometer far away from Line of control. It is an hilly place. This place has been among the beautiful places that have been blessed by natural beauty. The main contributor to its beauty and climate have been the Pine(called cheerh in local language) trees, which are diminishing drastically with the passage of time because of its merciless cutting for burning, construction of houses and mostly for sale by some culprits due to worst negligence by concerned authorities. Now there is big difference in climate between today and 20–30 years before. It was very cool and pleasant then and now becoming hotter and hotter with the passage of time. This is also causing a severe deficiency of water flowing from springs (Chashma), the main sources for supply of water in this area. This is because, its storage resource, Pine tree, is very much reduced. The situation may become worst in future as there is no action taken by the concerned authorities for improvement at any level. So with the passage of time this paradise place is changing into hell. Furthermore, bad Political environment has also effected the people. In some cases it becomes impossible for the people to get their due rights on merit due to undue influence/ hold of politicians and their worker who are most of the time exploiters. General public is appreciable good. They make every best possible effort for their own welfare and improvement as well as others and also that of state, in spite of the above stated discouraging attitude of the politicians. They are well qualified, well skilled and well mannered. One of the worst problems the general public facing is the unavailability of water supply at their homes, a very basic and essential necessity in today's world. They are mostly deprived of this facility as yet because of the exploiting attitude of the politician as the fact is that the provision of this facility is the responsibility of the government and these politician provide this only to the people of their will and favor while deprive all others. If this facility is provided at the earliest, then it will improve the living standard of the people considerably. Moreover, today's youth has to play active role for their own as well other well being. They have to get rid of slavery of these exploiting politicians by working hard in their education thereby increasing their vision, maturity and to get rid of the fears imposed by these politicians.
There is a newly settled colony called Model Colony. The people of Model Colony are the migrant of Indian Occupied Kashmire. Along with the shoulder to shoulder by the Army of Pakistan they fought three wars. Most of the people were in and are in AK regiment and Mujahid Batalian. Mr. Ghulam Nabi Mughal is one of the brave soldier of the Mujahid Batalian. He took part in all three wars. Mr. Muhammad Yasin Mughal and Mr. Muhammad Aslam Mughal are his two sons. They are the very active worker of Muslim Conference. They belong to the Royal Mughal Family (RMF).
