, an independent membership body for the full range of organisations that make up today's National Health Service.

The members of the NHS Partners Network are independent healthcare providers from large hospital groups, diagnostics providers, third sector organisations and a growing number of primary and community care providers. The supposed diversity of independent providers is claimed to enrich NHS services by offering innovative approaches and providing additional resources and capacity, to deliver quality care to NHS patients, free at the point of delivery.

Independent providers are subject to the same standards and regulation as NHS providers and are committed to the NHS values and principles as underpinned by the NHS Constitution.

NHSPN Work

The NHS Partners Network works with members, government and other stakeholders to ensure that independent sector providers can fulfill their potential in a mixed economy NHS that seeks to bring innovative, high quality care to NHS patients while spending tax payers’ money wisely. Independent healthcare provision within the NHS is part of the wider reform agenda working to ensure NHS care is world-class amid the changing demographics and financial pressures.

NHSPN Governance

The NHS Partners Network is led by a seven member board made up of member representatives who each lead a work stream. The board meets quarterly, normally followed by an event for members with a guest speaker.

Jill Watts, Chief Executive of Ramsay Healthcare, has been the NHSPN Chairman since April 2010.

David Worskett has been the NHSPN Director since 2007.
