. NCPDP members have created standards such as the Telecommunication Standard and Batch Standard, the SCRIPT Standard for Electronic Prescribing, the Manufacturers Rebate Standard and more to improve communication within the pharmacy industry.

Members

The NCPDP membership is the most diverse cross-section of healthcare executives and professionals found in one institution. NCPDP participants include virtually all segments involved in the pharmacy services sector of healthcare. The membership is broken into three categories.

The Producer/Provider category includes all types of retail Pharmacies (including chains, independents, online pharmacy), Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, Long Term Care providers and more.

The Payer/Processor category includes Pharmacy Benefit Management Companies (PBM), Health Insurers, State and Federal Agencies, Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) and more.

The Vendor/General Interest category includes Healthcare Consultants, Systems Vendors, Database Management Organizations, Physician Service Organizations, Professional/Trade Associations, Wholesale Drug Distributors and more.

NCPDP has over 1575 members and over 62% of NCPDP members fall within the Senior Manager to CEO professional levels.
