NAMI-A and KP1019 are two ruthenium
anticancer agents that have already entered clinical trials. They belong to the RAPTA series of complexes that have shown potential for the further development of anticancer drugs. NAMI is the acronym for New Anti-tumour Metastasis Inhibitor; -A means that this is the first of a series. RAPTA is the acronym for Ruthenium-Arene-PTA (PTA is 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane).
