Mynydd-y-Garreg RFC is a Welsh rugby football club who play in Division 1 of the Llanelli & District League. They were founded in 1985 and have gone from strength to strength ever since. The highlight of their 21 season history is when they won the Llanelli & District League Championship in 2001/02. The team was captained by Outside-Half Matthew Lloyd and coached by Simon Mansfield and Steve Thomas.

Mynydd-y-Garreg RFC have many stalwarts playing for the club. Players like, flanker Elfryn Lewis is still going strong and indeed were there from day one, when the club played their very first fixture at Crymych RFC in 1985. The club is currently coached by Aneurin Gravell and Geraint Evans.

It was rumoured that former captain Matthew Lloyd was to retire at the end of the 2009/2010, which interested both Cefneithin and Fall Bay, but opted to play on with the upcoming World Cup 2011 in his sights. It was reported in 2008 that Shaun Brown and Aneurin Gravell were brought forward for match fixing claims. Reports claim that both Brown and Gravell tried to bribe the referee's each Saturday to "blow up" after 60 minutes. No charges were brought forward and the club issued a staement that both will be disciplined via "a strict fitness regime".Brown record for scoring 5 tries in one game on boxing day was revoked and the record was handed back to Mark "fudgonator" Lewis.
In July 2010 Wyn Smith reportedly attempted to sign Gavin Henson from the Ospreys with a six figure 3 year deal. It was later clarified that it was Garin Fenton from Burry Port 2nds he was in talks with. In the same year, Neil Davies, star prop/fly half, was offered a lucrative deal to appear in a huggies advert, straight after the mynydd tour to edinburgh. No one has disclosed any details from the tour as they were sworn to secrecy. but he turned it down to concentrate on his rugby and also aim for the world cup. In 2009, veteran Elfryn Lewis, brother of superstar prop, Mark, won the wru fair play award for least number of penalties committed. It later turned out that he in fact had obtained 13 yellows and 4 reds that season and had been using the name Simon Reeves. The club has many famous fans including Wagner from x factor fame and Jacky "yea jackie" stallone.
