Abbas experimented outside one genre but proved his strength in the Sufi genre after performing various Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan songs which earned him high marks and praise from the judges. Ultimately, Mussarat was eliminated on September 14, but not before causing another argument between Himesh and Vishal. Mussarat made one final appearance on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, when he sang Tere Bin Nahin Lagda at the Grand Finale.
Mussarat's most memorable performances from the show included his singing of "Sanwre" and "Tere Bin Nahin Lagda", both of which earned praise from all of the judges and Mussarat was requested to sing again.
