People's living in this village main occupation is farming. That is totally depend on rain.
It is famous for Shri mahanta duradundeshwar math and Shri chidambar devasthana.Every year in the month of december chidambar fair will happen for that people come from so many places. Near to murgod there is small falls sogal that is also holy place.
Here green bangles are very famous and exporting to other district and states.Pottering also very famous in this village.Nearer to village there is one big cave its name is "siddappana gavi(cave)".In this cave so many movies shooted. Around the village there is good sightseeing is there. In this village you can get "sangeeth"(Type of food like bhel puri).Near to chidambar temple there is "pandavar padi"(pandavas hill)that is also very good to visit.

This is the education society in murgod.It has high school,primary school,PU college(all are aided by govt),JODC(Job Oriented Diploma course) and D.ed(diploma in education)courses.It was established before 30 years.It is now working in the blessing shri mahant shivoyogi and neelakanth mahaswamy.Shri S.T.Pattanashetti and other board of directors are struggling to do this institute as best.
