Moustafa was born in Xanthi, Greece but grew up in the United Kingdom. He went to Pimlico Secondary School, Sir John Cass Sixth Form and is currently studying in Kingston College. Moustafa is a Muslim and his parents are of Iraqi descent.

After appearing on M.I. High, Moustafa had a guest appearance in the medical drama, Casualty. He has also appeared in Basil's Swap Shop as the Tea Boy.
