on September 9, 1929, to a new seat created by 45 Stat. 1409; He was confirmed by the United States Senate
on November 20, 1929, and received commission the same day. He served as chief judge from 1958 to 1959. Byers assumed senior status
on February 1, 1960, and died in Brooklyn on March 5, 1962.
